What do you need to get started on my design?
All we need to get started is your text (song titles, lyrics, credits,
thank yous, etc.), any photos you’d like to use, and a deposit.
If you don’t have any photos, that’s fine too. To make the
most effective packaging to boost your sales, it’s helpful for us
to know your genre of music, target audience, or at least a few descriptive
words about your music (e.g., funky, acoustic, energetic, romantic, etc.).
We’ll give you as much design guidance as you want. You can give
us a detailed idea, a basic idea, or no idea at all.
How can I submit my photos?
We can take traditional prints and slides, or digital photos supplied
on disc. We cannot accept negatives. If you’re not dealing with
a professional photographer, we highly recommend you spend a few minutes
reading "Kodak's
top 10 tips for photographers". A strong photo can make a huge
difference in the quality of your design.
This is my first CD. What kind of
text should I provide?
Most people include song titles, production credits, their contact information,
and a list of people to thank. You may also want to include lyrics to
your songs or even the story behind the songs (what it means to you or
why you wrote it). Some people prefer to put lyrics and song information
on their website.

What if I don't like my first design proof
We’ll change the design until you like it. All our design work comes
with the Streamline Multimedia no-fine-print guarantee: you must be completely
satisfied or you pay nothing.
What if I don’t like my second
or third design proof?
Again, we’ll change the design until you like it. You can rest assured
knowing the overwhelming majority of our design clients approve their
designs on the first or second proof. The only time you would be charged
for a design change is if we were following your specific instructions
or supplied text, and you changed your mind after seeing the proof. You’ll
never pay for a design decision that we’ve made.
Do I get to pick from multiple different designs?
In order to offer the lowest design fees possible, we have streamlined
the design process. Instead of showing you multiple cover treatments to
pick from, we’ll provide you with one complete package solution
to your design needs. If you don’t like it, we’ll show you
another, different design. The process has proven very successful: 75%
of our clients approve their designs within two rounds of proofs.
Can I put my picture on the disc itself?
Yes. Keep in mind that discs are printed using a different process than
your inserts and also use different
inks, so we may not be able to provide you with an exact match between
your cover and disc.

Can you touch up my photo?
We can fix minor blemishes such as pimples or small scratches in a photo
for free. Cosmetic touch-ups like removing wrinkles, stray hair, or lines
under the eyes are more difficult, and usually cost $50-75. More elaborate
fixes (such as removing or adding people from photos) can cost anywhere
from $50 to $300. We can provide you with an exact price on your photo
retouching when we see the photo.
Can you combine two photos I have to make
one picture? Or put me on a different background?
Probably. There may be additional charges for this, depending on how similar
the photos are, or how long it would take us to isolate a person from
the background. We would have to see the photos to provide you with a
definite price quote.
Can I see the fonts that you have available?
We have several hundred fonts—too many to list anywhere. You are
welcome to let us know what kind of font you’re looking for (simple,
funky, thick, elegant, handwritten, etc.) or supply a sample of a font
that you like. We may not have that exact font, but we’ll have something
close.
